So, while I was studying abroad in Quito I became a huge fan of getting my nails done. It was a pampering thing that relaxed me and only cost $4! Seriously, four dollars. You can't even get a single toe done in the states with four bucks.
Though I'm back in the good ol' US of A, I'm still a huge fan of having my nails done. Except, now I do them myself. Because I'm cheap and broke. Plus, I never rip the skin off of my nail or push my cuticles down to the point of bleeding. Yea, that's happened to me. OUCH.
While browsing my collection of nail gunk, I noticed some of them have the most beautiful names, ever. I have 'showgirl shine,' 'Jade is the new Black,' 'Time Square Red,' and 'One Time Lime' from the Justin Bieber collection. (Seriously, homie has his own nail polish. Dude is EVERYWHERE.)
I could totally do this job! I did some research (Google) and found this article which explains how OPI nail colors receive their names. It sounds like a blast and with my love for puns and awful jokes, I would be the perfect candidate to work at OPI or Essie or that one company that sells really cheap colors.
Much love,
Manicure Michelle
The real world is approaching and I just need to start thinking.

I'm going to be an INN KEEPER
I think I have a knack for hosting people. My sister and her boyfriend traveled to Duluth for a quick day visit. It was short, but it was a good time.
This is how I discovered a hidden talent. When people want to see some sights, they really aren't looking at spending a whole day indoors. But, having a nice place to sleep and some food definitely makes a trip worth while. I can provide that place! Have a few beds, bathrooms, lounging space, and BOOM! VACATION DESTINATION!
Seeing as I am a pretty decent breakfast cook, I think I could open a Bed and Breakfast! They're so tiny and cute! Plus, think of all the pancakes I could make. Cinnamon, blueberry, apple, buttermilk, and the list goes on! I love pancakes! And making sure people feel comfortable and are having a relaxing time.
OH AND I COULD HAVE A CUTE COFFEE/TEA BAR! The adorableness of this idea is almost overwhelming.
Now, how would my degrees in Communication and Spanish apply to this B&B genius? Easy, I have to market myself and have great customer relationship skills.
Only thing, I need a classy house, money for things, and I'm sure there are a bunch of permits I need to apply to. But, I'm not killing this dream quite yet!
Much love,
Michelle, the B&B queen

317 days and Counting
I'm a 21-year-old kid doing my best to fool people into thinking I am an adult. So far, I think it's working. And even if my masquerade slips, I can blame it on still being a student. Because students can get away with so many things! For example, buying cheap tickets with discounts, living with 6+ roommates, wearing snapbacks, and saying things like #yolo. You know, things that no normal adult would really ever do.
But, in 317 days I will be leaving undergrad life and be entering...gulp...

THE REAL WORLD.
I mean, it'll be great. I'm as excited as a small child receiving an ice cream cone. Unfortunately, I'm that one kid who doesn't know what flavor she wants because she is terrified of choosing something, like cherry, due to an adventurous phase but really really doesn't like cherry flavor, which she finds out after ordering and tasting said ice cream cone therefore messing up her entire day. Except, it would be my "professional adult" life and not ice cream. And run-on sentences aren't allowed as an adult.
Thing is, I know almost no one absolutely knows what they want to do when they grow up. Even late into their 40's. But I have school debt to pay and some plan is better than no plan. Right?

So, I'm going to brainstorm. Hence, this blog. I'll be posting a new idea every few days or so and hopefully I'll find something that sticks. Some ideas are going to be completely non-realistic and some may actually be my future adult life. I guess we'll see.
Much love,
Michelle, the adult-kid
